Rich Colleges Receiving Richest Share of U.S. Aid

Rich Colleges Receiving Richest Share of U.S. Aid

I had often suspected as much. There's a bit of a flaw in this argument, however. Rich private colleges cost more money to attend, like ten times as much. As such, the poorer students require more aid. I know, I got a lot of aid myself because I went to a private school. Even though richer schools admit a smaller number of disadvantaged students, their financial need far outstrips a state school attendee, therefore, they get more loot. Simple as that. If the amounts available to the wealthier schools were reduced, it would further contribute to the elitism built into the private school structure.
