When are you going to make an empowering, uplifting hip-hop album again?
This was my very first hip-hop record. Remember when black women could look like black women?
There was a story on News & Notes regarding women and hip-hop a few weeks ago that got me thinking about my entree to feminism and music. Monie Love, who raps on this particular song, as well as MC Lyte, were part of the panel. I want some of that back.
(I'm a little addicted to youtube right now, if you can't tell.)
