People's Design

Wasn't I just babbling about the Cooper-Hewitt? Somehow, this competition escaped my notice, until today when treehugger told me about it.

The People's Design Award is, naturally, open to the public. My favorite contender is the TOMS shoe, which I noted a while back. Also nominated are the Lifestraw, which purifies water as one drinks it, the iPhone, which is obviously a huge coup in design and usability, and of course, the one laptop per child.

Voting ends today at 6:00PM EST.
