Thanksgiving travels

This year, I'm doing something different. No Run to Feed the Hungry, no secret bike ride, no old boss's house or orphan Thanksgiving with folks from the pub.

This year, I'm going traditional and old-school: I'm going to Alabama to spend the holiday with my dad's family. I haven't seen most of them since I was 19, and my closest cousin since 2001, when he was living in Atlanta and I was there for work.

As I never see this side of the family, visiting them is always awkward. Which, aside from cost issues, is likely why I'm not staying for more than a couple days. I also have to work on my thesis and watch Judy's cat.

I hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving holiday!
